They are very common across all of North America. They hunt in woods, plains, prairies, groves and deserts.
They are very adaptable to various habitats. They hunt mostly small to midsize rodents. This one is Calurus

This aluminum sculpture is mounted on a piece of authentic
telephone pole. It mounts sturdily to a wall stud. The glass insulators
were only made on the west coast and were used because it matched
the range of the young caluraus rufus phase Red-tailed Hawk depicted
here. He is poised for take off. This piece has a full compliment
of individual wing and tail feathers. The rich colors and subtle pattern
make it an elegant magestic addition to any home or office. Like all
of Daniel's sculptures, this is a hand crafted one of a kind original.
Purchase includes a letter of authenticity signed by the artist.
