Blue Jay
Blue Jays are highly
intelligent and very adaptable, they take advantage of almost any food source.
They are happy and common visitors to back yard bird feeders.
Blue Jays
that do not migrate store food such as acorns in bark crevices or in the
soil. The Blue Jay's range extends throughout deciduous forests, parks,
and residential areas across eastern North America from Newfoundland to
central Alberta, and south to Florida and eastern Texas.
Blue Jays are capable of making a wide variety of sounds. They are usually
rather vocal. Blue Jays also produce a remarkable imitation of the scream
of a Red-shouldered Hawk. I have seen them use this call numerous times
to scare other species away from back yard feeder so they could have it
all to them selves.
